Leader #1: [someone’s name or website]

Now you’ll want to write 100 – 200 words about this person and what makes them a powerful influence in your niche. I would also add a link to the bottom of each list item to their website – this way if someone really likes what you wrote about them, you make it easy for them to learn more on their own.

It also builds up a lot of goodwill with the leader for when you share this post with them. They might even share the post with their entire audience because you will probably make them look so good – and who doesn’t want a bit of free press!? This is a powerful way to grow your list by uplifting and featuring leaders who already have an audience.

Conclusion

Although the word “Conclusion” sounds stuffy – it’s really effective. Many readers will read your intro, then skip right down to the conclusion, and will determine whether the entire article is worth reading. You can also use “Key Takeaways” or something of that nature if you’d like.

The goal here is to tell them what you just told them 🙂 Wrap it up by reminding them why these influencers are great, and why the topic you are discussing is really important to dive deeper into.

Once you’ve recapped the post, it’s time to transition into the call to action, which is the most important part of the blog post! They’ve read your entire article which means they are likely a perfect prospect to take your relationship further. So you can add whatever YOUR next step is:

  • Signing up to a newsletter
  • Leaving a comment
  • Sharing the post
  • buying your product
  • Joining your community on social media

There are two rules I’d like for you to follow here.

Rule 1: Only ask for ONE thing! A confused buyer buys nothing. A confused reader takes no action. So decide which is your most important action, and ask for that.

Rule 2: Make it logical! If your call to action makes them scratch their head… change it! Let me give you an example:

If your article is about the top 10 influencers in the parenthood space, I wouldn’t make my call to action to sign up for a free marketing course… The content of the article is not related to the call to action. If you don’t have a relevant freebie to pitch, then it’s a great opportunity to ask for comments, shares, etc.
